rags, I wish I can speak only bright side of our society but I learned so much about people by visiting several forums on internet.
For example, many people are suggesting other people to use glue traps to get rid of mice, rats, ground squirrels, etc and encouraging drowning, poisoning, shooting, etc to get rid of ground hogs, rabbits, and many other creatures on gardening forums.
I was so disgusted and sadden!
Needless to say, I needed to post many articles to explain how to control small animals humanely without harming in their gardens.
Many people think declawing cats is perfectly humane because they don't have knowledge of what is declawing and how much pain and suffering they are causing to mutilating their cats by declawing.
Again, I needed to post many articles written about cruelty of declawing cats on gardening forum.

Rags,Professor Gary Fransione is right about people.
Many people say " An animal’s right to live free of suffering should be just as important as a person’s right to live free of suffering." but these people don't mean what they say.
If they truly mean what they say, there is no way for these people to continue eating steaks, hams, chickens, pork chops, etc plus dairy and eggs knowing farm animal cruelty.
Momental pleasure of these people to eat animal products is life long most horrible torture and cruel death of billions of farm animals.
Do they care?
When their desire to eat animal products is stronger than their love for animals, their love for animals is not real.
I know some people take many years to stop eating farm animal flesh, dairy and eggs but if people have honest heart to acknowledge reality of unimaginable life long torture in factory farms and cruel death of billions of farm animals in slaughterhouses, soon or later, these people will stop eating animal products.
I have deep sympathy for people who are forced to eat animal products and they don't have freedom to choose foods they want to eat.
I even don't want to think about horror in slaughterhouses where many farm animals are suffocate to death in their own blood!

Now, I must think about pleasant things to save my sanity.

The two-part One Planet: Animals & Us programme is half way through. In the style of "half-time analysis" at a sports event, Professor Gary Francione, Elizabeth Collins of the always good NZ Vegan Podcast, and I, talked about the first show which was focused on factory farming (the next one is about vivisection).

Hey Violet,

I too see where you're coming from. Sometimes seeing such angry bantering idiots on the net (and I speak harshly of such people, and this is out of "tough love" for them), half wouldn't have the guts to say out loud of their hatred. If they do, especially around my area, I would challenge them to a "competition" of sorts, for they will not match against me, just to shut them up (this will also break their stereotypes that "vegans are easy to crack" and all that other BS). As for the gardening forum, I would only say it's a "handful" of particular people doing such things. I wouldn't worry so much, but it's always good to give alternative ideas to such people anyhow.

Either way, one way or another....vegan is the future. No matter how difficult or how "bad things are coming."

Wo Dao, I too thought barbarians are minority but please check link below.

Sadly, my message to show humane way of solving problem of mice, rats, and many other creatures in house and garden is deleted for some strange reason.
People are suggesting most horrible way to kill mice, rats, and many other small creatures.

<<YOU CAN REUSE GLUE TRAPS. Do not "pull" the mouse off. Just hold the glue trap upside down, and let gravity slowly pull the mouse down and off. Hold the glue trap over the toilet, so the mouse, if alive, will not escape. You can suspend the traps on coathangers across the toilet seat if you don't want to spend all day holding the trap.
A very effective and cheap repeating trap is a "5-gallon" paint bucket. (not safe around small children and pets.)
Dry method: Optionaly, put some bait in the bottom, and leave it next to a thing that mice can climb into it from. They fall in and are trapped.
Wet method:
If outside, bury it in the ground. Poke a series of small holes in the wall of the bucket one third of the way from the bottom to let extra water that will collect (condensation) seep out. Put a few inches of water in it. If you want a permanent mouse and mole trap, bury the "5-gallon" bucket upright in the ground, with the rim two or three inches below ground level, place a strong board over the top, suspended about an inch over the rim (not closing the bucket, so mice and moles can crawl under the board an into the pail) and leave it. Bait is not necessary. (Do not put it where you will step, or where you will not want to see or smell it). You can camoflague this trap by covering it with mouse-attracting brush, compost, storage. Over the years, this trap will fill up with dozens of dead mice and moles- and keep on working. It may smell. (Throw some lime into it) >>

I wish I can inflict same pain and suffering to these primitive sadists to teach lesson.
Nobody is brave enough to speak against barbairty anger me most.
Many European countries are much advanced when we speak about humane treatment of animals but many North Amecians are not so civilized.

P.S.
I went back to gardenweb forum and found one of my message is still visible.
Maybe my other messages are moved to other thread becaues many people are complaining about mice infestation and asking for help on Gardenweb forums.
I hope forum owner is not going to ban me because my messages of Animal Rights on his(or her) forum.
